In case you were unaware, sci-fi horror is making a comeback. Not only are we being treated to a new Alien movie and series, but also a new Predator movie is coming. And it’s coming soon. So soon in fact, that we now have the first image of the titular hunter in action.

In the build of hype we have seen a couple different promos for the new Predator movie, known as Prey. However, the studio has done a great job of keeping the Predator itself away from the internet. Prey is the cover story in the latest issue of SFX magazine, which features a couple new images. This includes one that gives the most revealing look at the Predator so far.

Set in the Comanche Nation 300 years ago, Prey is the story of a young woman, Naru, a fierce and highly skilled warrior. She has been raised in the shadow of some of the most legendary hunters who roam the Great Plains. When danger threatens her camp, she sets out to protect her people. The prey she stalks, and ultimately confronts, turns out to be a highly evolved alien predator with a technically advanced arsenal, resulting in a vicious and terrifying showdown between the two adversaries.

Prey is directed by Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane) from a screenplay by Patrick Aison (Jack Ryan). The film stars Amber Midthunder (Roswell, New Mexico), Stormee Kipp (Sooyii) and Michelle Thrush (The Journey Home). Dane DiLiegro (American Horror Stories), a 6’9″ former basketball player with experience working in creature suits, will take on the role of the Predator.

Prey Release Date

According to Hulu, Prey will be available entirely in Comanche as a language option, or with Comanche subtitles. This is the first time a feature-length movie on a direct-to-consumer streaming platform has been available in the Comanche language in its entirety.
