Today is the day! Lightning strikes Disney+ as Thor: Love and Thunder makes its debut on the popular streaming platform. The Thor: Love and Thunder Disney+ release arrives as part of a big launch of new titles on the platform.
Thor: Love and Thunder is the fourth film based on the hero. The film follows Thor teaming up with Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) and Korg (Taika Waititi) to recruit some Gods and fight back against Gorr the Butcher, who threatens to kill them all. Together they go on a cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.
It also heralds the debut of Mighty Thor, with Jane Foster picking up the hammer for the first time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Along side the Thor: Love and Thunder Disney+ release comes Disney’s live-action reimagining of Pinocchio, starring Tom Hanks as Geppetto. This also releases today. Furthermore, there’s also a new episode of She-Hulk for fans of the MCU.
Following the early release on Disney+, Thor: Love and Thunder will also make it’s way to physical media next media. Thor: Love and Thunder DVD and Blu-ray options arrive on 3rd October, 2022. Specific details on the bonus features set to be included have not yet been revealed. In fact, the description of the 4K Blu-ray package is nothing more than boilerplate at present: “4K offers enough pixels to fill four full HD 1080pp screens. With four times the amount of pixels, you’ll enjoy four times the level of detail. More pixels also means more colours, deeper darks and brighter bright, and augmented clarity, crispness, and contrast.”
However, the physical media options are currently quite cheap for a pre-order.
