Rogue Sun’s Tin Hearts is shaping up to be a delightful puzzler ahead of its release next month. In the run-up to launch, the team has started to release a series of Tin Hearts ‘Making of’ documentary episodes. The second, titled ‘Origins and Fables’ looks at the history of the team, from the founding veterans to the new staff members.
A Rogue Sun is born
Co-founded by Kostas Zarifis, Managing Director of Rogue Sun, Zarifis and several others from the team are ex-Lionhead staff. Lionhead Studios was co-founded by Peter Molyneux, with the studio most well known for its narrative-driven Fable series. As the team discuss in the episode, the essence of Fable is in the DNA of Rogue Sun and Tin Hearts, a puzzle adventure with warmth and soul to its characters.
As a young, indie studio Rogue Sun has grown to include many new staff. Some with strong gaming backgrounds from Sony and Disney, whilst for others this is their first job within the games industry.
If you’ve not been keeping up with Chit Hot’s coverage of Tin Hearts, the game is a Lemmings-esqe puzzler. Involving small toy soldiers, these little automatons studiously march along trying to get to an exit. Unfortunately, their path is continuously blocked by other toys, shelves, blocks and massive expanses between tables. Therefor, it is up to you to help them, carefully guiding them by placing items in their path.
Tin Hearts is scheduled to launch on 20th April. It’ll support PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, Utomik), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 & 5, and Xbox consoles. Additionally, a physical edition of the game will also be available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. A PC VR, Meta Quest 2 and PSVR 2 edition is slated for Summer 2023.
