Wired Productions has revealed Martha is Dead will launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC later in 2021. The announcement came by way of a brand new trailer showcasing more detail from the game. This includes a first look at photography and how this is integral to the gameplay experience.
Developed by LKA, the studio behind The Town of Light, Martha is Dead promises to build upon the studio’s signature style of deep multi-layered narratives, combining real-world locations and links to historical events with superstition, folklore, and deep psychological distress.
Martha is Dead is set in Tuscany in 1944 amid the brutality of the second world war. The body of a woman has been found, drowned and desecrated at the side of a lake. Martha is dead, and now her twin sister must deal with the fallout from her murder, all whilst the horror of war draws ever closer.
Martha is Dead is an exploration of loss. Relationships and the psychological undertones of a dark period of history will be shown through the eyes of a young woman who seeks the truth. However, she also has secrets of her own to hide.
The new trailer for Martha is Dead is only available on YouTube due to age restrictions. That in itself suggests that the game will have very mature themes when it launches later this year. Martha is Dead PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and PC will arrive in late 2021.
