The upcoming Robocop game has attracted a fair amount of attention. Developer Teyon made their name with light-gun-games-with-no-light-gun, but the Terminator: Resistance came, and proved the studio was capable of much more. Now, RoboCop: Rogue City will allow gamers to see for themselves ahead of launch, with an upcoming closed beta.

RoboCop: Rogue City invites players to become the iconic part man, part machine, all cop hero. Attempt to bring justice to the dangerous, crime-ridden streets of Old Detroit. Armed with your trusty Auto-9 and factory-built strength, you will fight forces. You have the power to decide how to fulfil prime directives in your own way, calling on your years of experience on the force. However, as the story unfolds you should proceed with caution, because corruption and greed know no limits. Protect the city you call home in this single-player FPS game, coming to multiple formats this September.

Announcing the closed beta, Teyon issued this rather thematic statement:

“Notice to all citizens who want law and order to prevail: Omni Consumer Products (OCP) invites you to take part in a special programme for the RoboCop: Rogue City project during a closed beta from 3 to 9 July on Steam. While only the most upstanding citizens will be selected for this elite programme, we encourage you to apply.

Your sense of duty will be rewarded as all citizens taking part in the closed beta will receive a 30% promo code to be used on nacongaming.com, as well as a PC code to access the game’s digital artbook, available at launch.”

RoboCop: Rogue City is planned for release September 2023. The game will be available for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
