The Saw movie franchise is almost 20 years old, with the latest instalment set to return to its roots. John Kramer aka Jigsaw (played by Tobin Bell) became an iconic serial killer, known for his elaborate killing methods. Yet the series became watered down over the years, mainly due to Bell’s character being killed off. The latest Saw X trailer sees Bell return to his role, doling out more of Jigsaw’s horrifying justice.
Set between the events of Saw I and II, Saw X explores the untold chapter of Jigsaw’s most personal game. Kramer is desperately battling cancer ravaging his body and will go to any length to cure it.
“John travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure in hopes of a miracle cure for his cancer – only to discover the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable,” the synopsis explains. “Armed with a newfound purpose, the infamous serial killer returns to his work, turning the tables on the con artists in his signature visceral way through devious, deranged, and ingenious traps.”

Saw X Trailer
As you can see in the trailer, Tobin Bell is back in high form as the Jigsaw killer. Delivering lines like: “You all pretended to cure me, but what I have planned for each of you is very real,” teases another powerful performance from the veteran actor.
And the traps Jigsaw has in store for the unlucky fraudsters look as equally brutal as they have ever done. As we’re well versed by now, they all have the chance to escape, if they’re willing to complete the challenge. As a line in the trailer eloquently puts it: “Of all the men to cheat, you picked John Kramer?”
Bell will be joined by another Saw cast veteran Shawnee Smith, reprising her role as Amanda. The rest for the cast will be made up of Renata Vaca (Midnight Family), Paulette Hernandez (Crown of Tears), Joshua Okamoto (VGLY) and Octavio Hinojosa (How to Survive Being Single).
Saw X will be released in theatres on 29th September 2023.
