The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is already a big game right out of the box but there’s much more to unlock with Nintendo’s Amiibo. These figurines are compatible with a lot of Nintendo’s first-party games and Link’s latest outing is no different. So here’s everything you need to know about The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Amiibo rewards.

What do Zelda Amiibos do in Tears of the Kingdom?

Other than looking cool on your shelf, all Nintendo Amiibos unlock some in-game items. These might be practical items like a new tool or vehicle. A new character perhaps? Or simply in-game resources such as food or crafting materials.

As you’ll see below, Amiibo rewards in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom fall into most of these categories. Depending on the Amiibo(s) you own you’ll be able to unlock new paraglider skins, weapons like the broadsword and plenty of mushrooms, meat and other tasty items.

How to Use Amiibo in Tears of the Kingdom

Actually using an Amiibo is fairly straightforward. To start with you need to use your Nintendo Switch in Handheld mode. Secondly, you need to have opened the Temple of Time before Amiibo functionality will activate.

Next, open up the Ability Wheel by holding down the ‘L’ shoulder button. There you’ll see the Amiibo icon. Activate that and then simply scan the figure or card by pressing on the right Joy-Con controller.

If, for whatever reason, the Amiibo icon doesn’t appear in the Ability Wheel follow these steps:

1. Press the + button to enter the pause menu
2. Then go System>Options>Activate Amiibo (top option)
3. Then go back to the Ability Wheel

How often can you use Amiibo in Tears of the Kingdom?

Amiibos aren’t a one-use item. As they have multiple rewards you can continually use them. Although you can only use each Amiibo figure once per day (per Nintendo Account).

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Amiibo Rewards

This is a list of all currently known Amiibo rewards for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. As the Amiibo can be used daily, the items that you’ll receive are random. Therefore, in the case of those that have several major items in their collection, you’ll have to repeat the process until everything unlocks.

It’s worth noting that all the Amiibo outfit rewards can be found in the game through exploration. Great if you’re struggling to get hold of a specific figure. Another key point to remember is that all the Paraglider Skin unlocks can only be accessed via Amiibo. Head to the Kochi Dye Shop in Hateno to swap the paraglider fabric.
