3goo has announced that The Rumble Fish +, developed by Dimps Corporation, is now available as a digital download on all major platforms. This includes PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. This follows the release of The Rumble Fish 2 last year. Chronology clearly doesn’t mean much to Dimps.
The series originally made its debut in arcades in 2004. The game was well received with its simple yet riveting five-button, two-gauge combat system. The game features 10 animated characters, each with their own distinctive style and personality. The Rumble Fish + is an updated version of this classic title, complete with modern-day features that fighting game players have come to expect.
The Rumble Fish + New Features
Originally announced as part of the rebirth of The Rumble Fish back in 2022, the game has clearly progressed beyond the original plan for a simple re-release. Perhaps buoyed by the success of peers such as Street Fighter 6 and Mortal Kombat 1, The Rumble Fish + includes an all-new online multiplayer mode. This new addition uses rollback netcode, promising a ‘lag-free experience’ for players wishing to test their skills against rivals from across the world.
An in-depth training mode has also been added. This allows players to fine-tune the CPU’s behavior to practice their combos against. The new release will still have the iconic arcade mode, where players fight their way through various encounters to learn more about each character, as well as local multiplayer for players to battle against their friends.

The PC version of the game will launch later, at an unspecified date in December, 2023. The game will cost 7.99 USD/EUR across all formats.
