How to Find the Midgardsormr
Finding Midgardsomr in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is undoubtedly the easiest part of this boss fight. As you’re reaching the end of Chapter 2: A New Journey, you’ll be heading towards he Mythril Mine entrance at the south side of the swamp. Here, you’ll naturally encounter Midgardsomr simply through basic play.
How to Beat the Midgardsormr in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
Midgardsomr is a less complicated battle than previous boss, the Materia Guardian. As with many of the tougher enemies in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, your Synergy Skills will give you an important advantage. Before we dive deep into the tactics for how to beat the Midgardsomr, here’s a breakdown of its strengths and weaknesses.

Ice is the Key to Beat Midgardsormr
Midgardsormr is a big boy. However, don’t let that intimidate you. It’s a relatively straightforward fight.
As stated above, Midgardsormr’s key weakness is Ice. As such, make sure you have team members equipped with Blizzard Materia. What’s more, the Shiva Summon Materia will make the process considerably easier.
Begin aggressively with Abilities and Blizzard spells to fill Midgardsormr’s Stagger meter. Keep the going with Synergy Abilities, as this will instantly Pressure it.
Midgardsormr’s Toxic Waters attack causes Poison, but gives you ample time to prepare. You should simply run to the edge of the battlefield to avoid it. If you get hit, a Antidote is all you need.
Midgardsormr also has a Scorching Breath attack. This can deliver high damage. However, it’s obviously telegraphed. You simply need to hide behind a tree and you’ll avoid it entirely.
Midgardsormr Phase 2
Once you’ve reduced Midgardsormr’s health by half, it’ll begin its Beta attack. This amps up the beast, increasing its damage output across all attacks.
The best tactic for this phase is to use Aerith and cast her Arcade Ward ability to land double the amount of spells. Sticking with Blizzard, use all teammates that have the materia equipped to do significant damage. Of course, be sure to continue to summon Shiva when available, too.
