Titan Forge Games is gearing up for the launch of its MOBA sequel, Smite 2. As it does so, the studio has revealed the first god set to grace the game, the Greek goddess Hecate.

The studio says Hecate is one of the most community-requested Gods. She’ll join the initial roster of alpha-Gods that includes Zeus, Loki, Thor, Medusa and Anubis. Hecate is the goddess of sorcery, witchcraft, and magic, and Titan Forge Games has revealed a couple of her abilities.

Firstly, there’s ‘Traverse Worlds’ which changes the visual design of the world. This affects both Hecate and the enemy Gods that the effect has hit. Another one of her unique abilities is ‘Spell Eater’. This allows Hecate to charge up an Orb during intense battles to unleash damage based on allied and enemy abilities cast near it.

If you want to learn more, Titan Forge has released a deep dive video on her design.

Smite 2

Titan Forge revealed Smite 2 at the beginning of the year, the sequel to its popular, free-to-play MOBA that launched back in 2015. Smite garnered a player base of 40 million, so the arrival of Smite 2 powered by Unreal Engine 5 promises to be a big launch.

The studio has said plans on keeping the core of what made the original popular while streamlining and deepening the overall gameplay. Plus, thanks to UE5 there will be dynamic lighting, physically based rendering, cloth simulation, more detailed models, and more.

Smite 2 can be wishlisted on Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox and Epic Games Store now. You can also register for alpha test access at SMITE2.com. Founder’s Edition bundles will soon be available for purchase, guaranteeing access to alpha testing.

Another MOBA that’s opening up for beta testing is Predecessor, starting later this week.
