Kwalee has today announced a publishing deal with three-person UK developer Damage State to bring the blood-soaked, action-packed FPS Scathe PC and consoles. Currently in development for to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC, the game will launch at an unspecified time in 2022.
Scathe is a ‘classic’ FPS with big guns and even bigger demons. You play as Scathe, Enforcer of the legions of Hell, forged from the earth by the Divine Creator. You must prove your worth by navigating a deviously crafted maze, entangled with demonic evil at every turn.
Players must search for the Hellstones and get to the centre of a maze. However, they must also defeat the all-powerful Guardians that protect the stones in a series of bullet hell battles. Players must dodge countless projectiles as they attempt to keep moving and control the flow of each battle. Quick reflexes are the key to survive the bullet hell labyrinth that stands between you and your ascension.
Players will have access to a vast array of weapons, each featuring a secondary fire mode. The Bow Blade allows you to slice through enemies with the buzz saw launcher, while Hot Hatch brings the power of hellfire to the battle.
Scathe will deliver both a single player option and drop-in/drop-out online co-op gameplay when it arrives later this year. You can watch the debut trailer below, and A free limited-time demo for Scathe will feature in the Steam Next Fest celebration from 21st – 28th February, 2022.
Scathe is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC, some time in 2022. Be sure to let us know if Scathe is going on your ‘most wanted’ lists!
