It seems that Apple is set to unveil the next generation iPhone at a special event in September 2018. The Apple Special Event 2018, which will take place at the Steve Jobs Theatre at the new Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California, on 12th September 2018, has been revealed alongside the tagline ‘Gather Round’.

While some suggest the tagline on the invitation is a nod to the new Apple campus, it’s likely to also provide a hint to what will be announced. As is often the case, the tagline could provide a clue as to what is set to be revealed, most notably the ’round’ suggesting that a circular device or product line could be on the way; potentially a new Apple Watch or even a new speaker product. Aside from this, it’s highly likely that the event will host the unveiling of the latest iPhone model. This is currently expected to be the ‘S’ edition of the iPhone X (iPhone XS?).

New iPad Pro models are also expected to be unveiled, along with some new Mac PCs.

Where Can I Watch?

Invitations have begun being distributed amongst journalists and developers. But for those that aren’t lucky enough to be invited along to the event you can watch all the action unfold via an official livestream from Apple:

You can watch the Apple Special Event live on 12th September at 10am PDT (7pm GMT) at https://www.apple.com/apple-events/september-2018/.

There is currently no official word on who will be presenting what at the Apple Special Event 2018, but it’s highly likely to involve a number of developers and marketing people uncomfortably wheeled out onto the stage to talk about the new products that everyone in the audience just wants to get hands-on with. Controlled reveals are the ‘in’ thing, but they’re not the Chit Hot thing.
