Wales Interactive have revealed a timed Sker Ritual demo will launch next week. Offered as part of the Steam Next Fest event, which runs from 13th-20th June, 2022, the Sker Ritual demo will enable 1-4 players to team up online. For the first time, you can face Sker Island’s Quiet Ones and their more powerful cohabitants, The Elites, in a first-person round-based survival shooter.
Sker Ritual is the spiritual successor to the award-winning British horror, Maid of Sker. Opposed to a slow moving horror experience, this time The Quiet Ones are back in this co-op survival FPS. Players will face hordes enemies with unique supernatural powers.
In the Sker Ritual demo players will be able to customise their character’s horror themed masks. Then they can jump into Solo, Private or Quick Play online matchmaking for one map, The Cursed Lands of Lavernock. The demo will include a sample of the game’s Story Objectives and gain full access to The Laughing Policeman’s shop and the steampunk inspired Magnificent Munitions Upgrade Station.
The demo represents the end of Alpha development and will switch to Beta before launching on Steam Early Access later this Summer. The alpha demo will be limited to 30 minutes per game, with an unlimited amount of replays.
Once the Alpha demo has concluded, the Beta edition of Sker Ritual will be updated to offer the following:
– Boss Events and Top Tier enemies
– Additional Elites with unique powers
– New maps
– Additional guns, steampunk upgrades, masks and further customisation
– Complex Objectives and Easter eggs
– Advanced functionality for the unannounced ‘Miracles’ system
– Improved mechanics for the unannounced revive system
Sker Ritual is coming to Steam Early Access this summer. Sker Ritual PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S released will follow in Q1 2023.
