Following the success of the hugely popular Slaves to Darkness Army Set and new Battletome, Games Workshop are turning their attention to another Chaos faction. It’s time for a new Beasts of Chaos Battletome, something which the faction is in desperate need of.
New Beasts of Chaos Battletome
Beasts of Chaos has been using their Warhammer: Age of Sigmar 2nd edition Battletome for far too long. As such, the popularity of the faction has dwindled. New Battletomes often reinvigorate armies in Warhammer: Age of Sigmar, as has been seen with the recent Slaves to Darkness reboot, so hopes are high that the new Beats of Chaos Battletome will have a similar effect.
The new Beats of Chaos Battletome promises all the usual. Updated warscrolls, pitched battle profiles, and new Path to Glory rules. However, there will also be a Limited Edition version available, with just 250 copies printed.
Beats of Chaos Battletome Limited Edition details:
Much like the limited edition version of the Slaves to Darkness Battletome included with the Army Set, the new Limited Edition Beats of Chaos Battletome will feature the following luxuries:
- Gilt Page Edges
- Gold Foil Blocking
- Red Ribbon Page Marker
- Soft-touch Cover
Remember, only 250 copies of this Limited Edition will be available. Pre-orders will go live on Saturday, 28th January, 2023. No specific launch date or pricing has yet been announced.
New Beastlord Model
While not getting the same degree of glow-up as Slaves to Darkness, Beasts of Chaos are getting a new model. That’s ‘a’. As in singular. The Beastlord is a beaut, however.
Games Workshop has promised that these powerful leaders are ‘absolute machines in close combat’. Originally previewed back in November 2022, we already know how one of the hero’s abilities has been improved. ‘Hatred of Heroes’ is no longer a solo endeavour. Instead, it’s a buff for surrounding units. See the image below for more details.
Gloomspite Gitz Also Come to Play
Not to be outdone, the Gloomspite Gitz are also getting an updated Battletome. It will include the usual set of rules for subfactions, relics, and magic, as well as warscrolls and battleplans, and will also be available in a Limited Edition with the same features as the Limited Edition Beasts of Chaos Battletome.
Again, no release date or pricing has yet been announced for the Gloomspite Gitz Battletome, but pre-orders also launch on 28th January, 2023.
Both factions are set to receive new Vanguard boxes alongside their respective Battletomes. No pricing details have yet been revealed, so it’s hard to discern the value of these packages. Especially compared to the Beasts of Chaos Start Collecting! box, which has been considered to be a high value package for, well, starting to collect Beasts of Chaos!
