There’s been a big debate about mouse and keyboard support on consoles of late. Not least with the likes of Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition coming to Xbox Game Pass. As such, it’s about time we looked into all of the Xbox games with mouse and keyboard support.

There are numerous input devices available for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S consoles. The standard Xbox controller of course, plus the Xbox Elite series. Then there’s the Xbox Adaptive Controller for greater accessibility. And this is before we take into account the plethora of third-party options. The FUSION Pro 3 Controller recently launched, and there’s all sorts of alternatives out there. And still, some would prefer to go with the humble mouse and keyboard.

So without further ado, here’s everything you need to know about Xbox games with mosue and keyboard support.

Can You Use a Mouse and Keyboard on Xbox?

Yes, you can. However, your mileage will vary on a game-by-game basis. Some games only feature limited support. They may only work with keyboard or mouse, or might also require a controller to progress through the menus. Furthermore, it’s best to stick with wired devices.

Does Xbox Series X|S Have a Mouse and Keyboard?

While there’s no official option, many third-party companies advertise their products based on Xbox compatibility. For example, you might want to check out Red Thunder’s budget options. Or if you’re looking for something in the higher end, the ROCCAT SOVA Gaming Lapboard comes highly recommended by many users.

Which Halo Games Have Mouse and Keyboard Support?

For many Xbox gamers, the long-and-short of wanting mouse and keyboard support is Halo. Many would expect the Halo Wars games to be the first in line for mouse and keyboard support. However, that is sadly not the case. In fact, there’s only two Halo games on Xbox with mouse and keyboard support:

  • Halo Infinite
  • Halo: The Master Chief Collection

Well, yeah, Halo: The Master Chief Collection is a few games, technically. However, it’s packaged as a single title. So, technically, just the two. Halo 5: Guardians does not include mouse and keyboard support.
