Since 2022 Aesir Interactive’s Police Simulator: Patrol Officers has allowed players to step into the role of a police officer. Set in the fictional US town of Brighton, later this year Police Simulator heads beyond the city boundary with the Highway Patrol expansion.
The new Police Simulator DLC extends the game map to explore the bustling Brighton highway district. This also means the introduction of new tasks like high-speed monitoring, cargo checks on trucks, and highway assistance.
Furthermore, with the highways open the excitement levels should go up. Players will see car thefts surge, leading to thrilling chases and tactical manoeuvres. To combat these thieves, they’ll have access to new spike strips and roadblocks – as well as other tools – to stop fleeing criminals. High-speed roads also mean high-speed civilian accidents, tackling fires and other challenges.
Thankfully, players will have access to new vehicles. The new Interstate Police Vehicle provides a touch of vintage flair. Whilst the Endurance Police Vehicle is equipped with a heavy-duty device that officers can use to stop fleeing vehicles at full speed.
Police Simulator Highway Patrol
The upcoming DLC should hopefully add some pep to the experience. Because as we found in our Police Simulator: Patrol Officers review, the simulator isn’t flawless: “The idea of a slow day bringing justice is on the cards. If that appeals – and you can look beyond the game’s flaws – Police Simulator: Patrol Officers is a worthwhile endeavour.”

The Highway Patrol expansion for Police Simulator: Patrol Officers will be available this Summer for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series S|X and Xbox One. Also set to arrive this summer is the Police Simulator: Patrol Officers Gold Edition. This includes the main game, the Garage Bundle, as well as the Highway Patrol Expansion.
