There’s no denying that Halo Infinite didn’t quite become the new Halo game that many were looking for. A perfectly enjoyable single-player campaign and a continually growing multiplayer is all well-and-good, but it failed to deliver on anticipation. So now we’re looking to the future, and as 2024 dawns we learn of a new Halo game on the way. On the way, that is, to your tabletop.
UK-based tabletop studio Mantic Games has announced a partnership with 343 Industries to launch a brand-new Halo miniatures combat game. Halo fans can look forward to new Spartan miniatures that bring Halo multiplayer battles to life in a brand new way. Designed as a team combat game experience, the new Halo miniatures game will be open to both tabletop newcomers and veterans alike.
“We are thrilled to team up with Mantic Games to bring a new Halo tabletop game to fans in 2024”, said John Friend, Head of Halo and Xbox Consumer Products. “Mantic is a leader in tabletop gaming, and their quality and experience show through in all their work. I’m most excited in this case about their passion for the Halo franchise and for bringing Halo gameplay to tabletop gaming in an incredibly authentic way.”

From what little that is available right now, the new Halo miniatures games sounds a lot like an adaption in a similar vein to Warhammer 40,000. There is of course, nothing wrong with that. In fact, the Halo franchise has already dabbled in this area with the oft forgotten Halo Fleet Battles – The Fall of Reach.

Mantic Games and 343 Industries has revealed that Halo and miniature gaming fans around the world can expect their first preview in March 2024. The new Halo tabletop game will be launching directly to retail in September 2024.
