Ahead of the rapidly approaching launch of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Square Enix has made an unexpected release. A new update is available for predecessor Final Fantasy 7 Remake. This new update comes with good and bad news for fans of one particular character.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake originally launched on PlayStation 4 back in 2020. However, that version has all but been abandoned, with the PC and PlayStation 5 releases of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade having long since become the priority. Though only releasing a year later, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade features several improvements and entirely new additions to the game.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade Update
This new and sudden update is currently only offered for players on PlayStation 5 and PC. The primary change is to one of fan favourite Tifa Lockheart’s costumes. The cowgirl outfit available to Tifa during the Nibelheim flashback has been changed. It now includes a black shirt under the white button top. This change has presumably been made for sake of continuity, as Tifa has the same costume available in the forthcoming Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

A second change however, is that the update FFVIIHook mod on PC, as reported by wccftech. Per its official description, FFVIIHook “unlocks the dev-console, giving access to console commands & easy changes to the games CVars – along with allowing loose INI files to be loaded in from the games config folder!”
As stated above, the update was released across PlayStation and PC. Square Enix didn’t reveal full patch notes for version 1.003, only listing “updates to several bugs” on its Steam page.
As small update then, but one of significance for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade fans playing on PC. How do you feel about the update? Are you playing Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade ahead of the launch of Rebirth? Let us know in the comments below!
