Curve Games and Swedish developer Neon Giant have announced that the popular cyberpunk action-shooter RPG The Ascent is now available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Previously an Xbox exclusive, The Ascent comes to PlayStation with some brand new features.

The Ascent PlayStation 5 Features

Added features for the PlayStation 5 edition of the game include use of the DualSense Controller. Additionally, all previous content added to the game will be included as standard. These include Photo Mode, New Game+, Transmogrification, and free DLC pack content with their unique new weapons, skins and cosmetics.

Using the DualSense Controller, The Ascent offers Haptic Feedback which enhances each interaction and battle. Every type of movement characters make will provide a different sensation. Whether it’s shooting, dodging or sneaking. Weapons are dynamic and each gun will feel unique in players’ hands. The DualSence Controller Speaker is used to simulate the sound of enemy alerts dropping in the heart of the action, and advertisements playing as you roam the neon lined streets. The PlayStation 5 console will also allow The Ascent to hit 4K 60 FPS.

Dualsense Controller

“We’ve been blown away by the reception and success of The Ascent since July. There’s also been a lot of love from our community, acknowledging we’re a small team committed to continuing to improve the game as much as we can with more content – and we’re so grateful for that support! We’re always thinking about what makes the most sense to be developing next. I’m super happy that we have been able to bring the game to even more people on the PlayStation platforms! PlayStation 5 has particularly sweet features with the haptic feedback of the new DualSense Controller, so we’re really excited for PlayStation players to get stuck in!”

Playing on PlayStation 4 & 5

The Ascent benefits from cross-buy on PlayStation platforms. Players can buy the game on PlayStation 4 and obtain the PlayStation 5 version for free, and vice versa. However, there is currently no cross-play between the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions. Neon Giant state that this feature is currently being worked on and will be available to players in the coming months.

Available to download now, The Ascent costs £24.99 / $29.99 / €29.99 on PlayStation consoles. Are you jumping in on PlayStation? Let us know in the comments below!
