Game Workshop seems to be rolling out a never-ending stream of new miniatures for Warhammer fans in 2023. From the Kharadron Codewright to the event-exclusive The Commissar’s Duty, there’s something for all Age of Sigmar collectors. The latest will be the introduction of six Regiments of Renown, mercenary groups offering unique skills to enhance your armies.
The six new regiments are coming to Warhammer Age of Sigmar at an undisclosed date, with full rules for them coming soon. “They are ready for matched play, with Pitched Battle profiles, rules for including them in each of the Grand Alliances, and unique new abilities,” notes Games Workshop. When the rules are published you can make up your own Regiment if you already have the correct models.
Norgrimm’s Rune Throng
For those brandishing an ORDER general, there’s Norgrimm’s Rune Throng. an exiled band of Dispossessed duardin. The regiment consists of a Runelord, 10 Irondrakes, and 10 Longbeards. Norgrimm has the ability where he can strike the Rune of Restored Hearth, marking an objective within 6″, thus turning his warriors into an immovable anvil once per battle.
The Coven of Thryx
For those wielding CHAOS armies there’s The Coven of Thryx. Containing Tzeentchian daemons controlled by Magister Thyrx, you’ll be able to utilise his unique knowledge of Endless Spells in battle.
Next, you have Veremord’s Shamblers, containing the Corpse Cart and Deadwalker Zombies. Available to DEATH armies, this regiment with its talented necromancer love to break the magic seals that guard the Mortal Realms’ crypts.
Another CHAOS-aligned regiment, Hargax’s Pit-Beasts features a trio of fearsome creatures. There’s Hargax himself, an Ogroid Myrmidon Champion, Mindstealer Sphiranx and the Fomoroid Crusher.
Elthwin’s Thorns is another mercenary group for ORDER generals to utilise. Containing Gossamid Archers and Sylvaneth Druanti the Arch-Revenant, they dart around the battlefield unleashing deadly salvos upon their enemies.
Big Grikk’s Kruleshots
And for those with DESTRUCTION armies, you have the might of Big Grikk’s Kruleshots. Containing the Beast-Skewer Killbow Grikk, and two groups of Man-skewer Boltboyz, this regiment adds a useful ranged option for generals.
