CinemaCon last week unveiled a huge amount of films, some receiving more positive responses than others. Paramount Pictures’ Transformers: Rise of the Beasts was one of those to get a lukewarm welcome. The action-packed franchise has dwindled thanks to recent entries, way past its prime as it throws evermore world-ending narratives at audiences.

The excitement of Transformers (2007) has long since diminished, with 2008’s Bumblebee the lowest-grossing film of the franchise. From the new trailer Transformers: Rise of the Beasts like it’ll continue some of the other sequels’ tradition of going even bigger – because that always means better. Whilst adding a nostalgic element to the mix with a nod to The Transformers: The Movie (1986).

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Trailer

The Transformers: The Movie was an animated film where the Autobots had to face the insurmountable might of Unicron – voiced by Orson Welles – a planet-sized Transformer. It became a cult classic and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will be riding its coattails as Unicron makes its long-awaited reappearance.

Set in the 90s, Rise of the Beasts will once again feature Optimus Prime and his band of Autobots. It’ll also introduce a new group of Transformers, the Maximals. As you can see from the trailer, these have all taken on animal forms like gorillas and birds.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will arrive in theatres on 9th June 2023. Check out the new trailer below.

CinemaCon 2023 did have some exciting news as well. There was the first The Exorcist: Believer trailer alongside the news Beetlejuice 2 is official. Attendees also got a look at the first Dune: Part 2 trailer and the latest trailer for The Flash.
