Earlier this month Games Workshop unveiled an all-new starter set for its speedier game Warhammer Underworlds. Refreshing the old kit for new players, Warhammer Underworlds pre-orders for the new kit go live this Saturday, 2nd June.
A great way to introduce new players to the Warhammer universe, the Warhammer Underworlds starter set has everything you need. A purely 1v1 battle, in this set the two players can choose between the Farstriders, veteran Stormcast Eternals, and the Sepulchral Guard who are undead tomb wardens. Both have their own battle traits depending on how you like to fight.
Warhammer Underworlds in action
For those just starting out, the Warhammer Underworlds starter set has handy step-by-step instructions to guide players through their first games. As the Farstriders, players control powerful knights who are few in number. But they make up for it with powerful attacks with their boltstorm pistols.
The Sepulchral Guard, on the other hand, overwhelm their foes with sheer numbers. Skeletal warriors who fight relentlessly as they’re no longer alive, feel pain or need rest.
As players delve further into the instruction guide they’ll be introduced to new rules and game mechanics until pure novices become seasoned veterans. These range from Ploys and Upgrades, to securing Objective cards, and earning Glory Points to win the game.
In addition to the warbands and guide, the starter set also includes two decks for the quick-fire Rivals format, and all of the boards, dice, and tokens required.
Remember that this is a starter set. So once you’ve got a hang of the basics you can expand it further. Introduce new miniatures and gameplay expansions. Or take the miniatures you’ve got and add more Warhammer Age of Sigmar models for a complete army roster!
