The game hasn’t even launched yet, but that hasn’t stopped Frontier Developments revealing the two Hero DLC packs coming to Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin. Both DLCs are scheduled to arrive after the RTS game launches, but no exact release date has yet been revealed.
Realms of Ruin is set in the iconic Warhammer universe. Players will become a warlord and lead four unique factions to conquer the savage Realm of Ghur in tactical battles. The four factions are Tzeentch, Orruk Kruleboyz, Nighthaunt and, of course, the Stormcast Eternals. Two of these factions will benefit from the newly announced Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin DLC.
Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin DLC
Each of the two Hero DLCs will each add a new playable Age of Sigmar unit to the game. These units can be used in Skirmish, multiplayer and the single-player Conquest Mode, each bringing new abilities to the battlefield. Players will swap out their default hero units for one of these special characters, allowing them to tweak their strategic approach to the game.
Yndrasta, The Celestial Spear
In Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin – Yndrasta, The Celestial Spear, players are granted a mighty Stormcast Eternals champion. Forged by Sigmar in Azyr and tasked with the duty of hunting down the wayward beasts of Ghur. Yndrasta is a powerful flying hero able jump in and out of the fray quickly. Her legendary spear, Thengevar, can be thrown to disrupt enemies and inspire allies.
Gobsprakk, The Mouth of Mork
With Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin – Gobsprakk, The Mouth of Mork, Orruk Kruleboyz players will have access to the faction’s first flying hero unit in the game. Gobsprakk is the canniest and most kunnin’ of all the Swampcalla shamans, taking to the skies on a Corpse-rippa Vulcha. As an extremely mobile and late game assault hero, he rallies support to his Orruk cohorts. Plus, he can unleash his own destructive power upon his enemies.
Each Hero DLC will also be available separately for £3.99/$4.99/€4.99, as well as part of a bundle for £6.99/$8.99/€8.99. The physical edition of Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin, meanwhile, will release on 27th February, 2024, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X only, and include both Hero DLCs. Both Hero DLCs are also bundled with the Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin – Ultimate Edition, which has a suggested retail price of £64.99 GBP/$74.99 USD/€74.99 EUR.
