The Nintendo Switch’s unending popularity has seen some interesting opportunities occur. From the streaming-only launch of Resident Evil VII: Biohazard (exclusively in Japan) to the long awaited European debut of popular drumming game series Taiko No Tatsujin, there’s plenty of unique experiences for the console. Now however, there’s yet another interesting development: RXN -Raijin- will be launched as a physical release with only 4,000 copies on sale.

To celebrate their 10th anniversary, acclaimed developer Gulti delivering a title that emphasises the fundamentals of the shoot-’em-up genre. The vertically-scrolling shooter utilises the entire width of the Nintendo Switch’s 16:9 field, resulting in frenetic yet strategic gameplay. Set to be published by eastasiasoft, RXN -Raijin- will be available in two editions limited to 4,000 units between them and only available from PlayAsia.com.

The ‘bullet hell’ shmup fanbase has grown from strength-to-strength in recent years, with some of the most creative works the genre has ever seen having been borne from the confidence of Ikaruga‘s western release on GameCube back in 2003. Since then, shmup games have been launched across a huge variety of formats and editions, including SEGA Mega-Drive and Dreamcast titles decades after any official support for the consoles has ended.
