Disney+ is filled with one season Marvel shows – you probably just finished watching Secret Invasion. But none have yet seen a second season arrive. As you would expect from the mischievous Loki, Tom Hiddleston’s character is going to buck that trend later this year. You can see what’s in store in the new Loki season 2 trailer.

Joining Hiddleston once again is Owen Wilson as the Time Variance Authority (TVA) investigator Mobius M. Mobius. Dealing with the fallout from season one, this time around (sorry) Loki is caught in some uncontrollable time-slipping. This sees the God of Mischief torn left and right. “I’m being pulled through time, between the past and the present. If what I saw is true, there’s nothing that stands between this world and utter destruction,” Loki proclaims in the trailer.

Loki Season 2 Trailer

The trailer not only teases the new narrative but also the return of several characters and new ones as well. At the very start, we see the introduction of Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan (Everything Everywhere All at Once) as O.B., with Loki and Mobius asking him for help.

Also new to the franchise is Rafael Casal (Blindspotting) as rogue TVA agent X-5.

The returning cast includes Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Eugene Cordero, Rafael Casal, Tara Strong, Kate Dickie, Liz Carr, and Neil Ellice. Sophia Di Martino will reprise her role as Loki variant Sylvie, who caused all this time-slipping in the first place. She stabbed Jonathan Majors’ He Who Remains, unleashing all the chaos.

It’s also interesting to see the embattled Majors in the trailer. He began forming a key part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, first appearing in the final episode of Loki season one. This was followed by his role as Kang the Conquerer in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

Loki season 2 is scheduled to arrive on Disney+ on 6th October. It was one of the few projects unaffected by the Disney content slowdown.
