Next month will see the release of Pet Sematary: Bloodlines, a prequel in the horror franchise. Apart from a few select screenshots not much of the film had been shown until this week. Paramount+ has finally released the first official trailer for the upcoming instalment.
Based on Stephen King’s Pet Sematary (1983) novel, this film will serve to flesh out the narrative prior to the book. So we’ll see more of the character Jud Crandall and their early experience with the infamous burial ground.
Pet Sematary: Bloodlines teaser trailer
From the trailer, the movie looks as gruesome as you’d expect from a Pet Sematary film. There are the usual weird animals, the reanimated/possessed kid and the hun to find ‘Timmy’.
“In 1969, a young Jud Crandall has dreams of leaving his hometown of Ludlow, Maine behind, but soon discovers sinister secrets buried within and is forced to confront a dark family history that will forever keep him connected to Ludlow. Banding together, Jud and his childhood friends must fight an ancient evil that has gripped Ludlow since its founding, and once unearthed has the power to destroy everything in its path,” the official description explains.
Directed by Lindsey Anderson Beer Pet Sematary: Bloodlines stars David Duchovny, Pam Grier, Jackson White, Forrest Goodluck, Jack Mulhern, Henry Thomas, Natalie Alyn Lind, Isabella Star LaBlanc and Samantha Mathis.
The film will premiere on Friday, 6th October 2023 on Paramount+.
