There’s just over a week to go until the theatrical and streaming launch of Five Nights at Freddy’s. The hit horror game is coming to the big (and little) screen in time for Halloween with Universal Pictures dropping a new behind-the-scenes trailer. This Five Nights at Freddy’s ‘Look Inside’ contains brief snippets with the cast and crew.
Fans of the game will know the franchise revolves around deadly animatronics coming to life. Whilst there are a few in the games, the movie focuses on Freddy, Bonnie and Chica. Who all look fairly loveable at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. Thankfully, the animatronics in the movie are created by the Jim Henson Company, making for a truly terrifying spectacle.

Just like the games, the story revolves around a security guard as he begins his first night watching over the pizza parlour. Things don’t go to plan, of course, as Freddy, Bonnie and Chica go on a murderous rampage. Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games series, Bridge to Terabithia) plays the central security guard role. He’s supported by Elizabeth Lail, Piper Rubio, Kat Conner Sterling, Mary Stuart Masterson and Matthew Lillard.
“They are really terrifying, I think they’re doing their job, they are supposed to be eerie and terrifying,” says Lillard in the clip.
Produced by Blumhouse (M3GAN, The Black Phone and The Invisible Man), Five Nights at Freddy’s is directed by Emma Tammi (The Wind, Blood Moon).
Five Nights at Freddy’s opens in cinemas and on streaming service Peacock on 27th October 2023. Hopefully, it’ll fare better than The Exorcist: Believer and Pet Sematary: Bloodlines. Both of which hit theatres this month to poor reviews.
Considering original creator Scott Cawthon is producing, do you think the film will do the games justice? Let us know in the comment below.
