Eastasiasoft are set to bring Mapledev’s Rogue Sentry to consoles. Having debuted on Steam and Itch.io last year, the game will soon be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
In Rogue Sentry, you play the part of a sentry droid. You are part of the robotic legion that nearly wiped out mankind and seized control of civilization. AI has spread and taken over the world, imprisoning the remaining humans in a high-security fortress. However, you’ve gone rogue and now represent humanity’s last hope for survival.
Rogue Sentry is a ‘hardcore’ twin-stick shooter. You’ll navigate the complex inner workings of a gigantic prison fortress, face gun and laser wielding machines. You must pick up human survivors along the way as you attempt to escape to safety before it’s too late.
Presented in 1-bit pixel art style and set to a C64/Amiga-inspired chiptune soundtrack, the game is a minimalistic and nostalgic journey with an epic finale. Mapledev suggests the game has an ~2-4 hour playtime, but offers replay value due to its multiple endings.
Rogue Sentry PC Release
Despite launching over a year ago, Mapledev has continued to support the game with multiple updates. The latest patch, made available earlier this year, included additional language support. What’s more, the developer has stated that they are ‘still accepting bug reports’ for the game. Rogue Sentry has a ‘positive’ rating on Steam currently, with players commending the challenge involved. Plus, a highlight is reportedly the many secrets hidden within the game.
Rogue Sentry will launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S this summer. No specific release date has yet been announced.
