GoldenEye 007 became an instant classic upon its debut in 1997. Now, gamers on Xbox Game Pass, Nintendo Switch Online or owners of Rare Replay can jump back into the action. However, for those who can’t remember how to tackle the many objectives of the single-player missions, we’ve prepared a GoldenEye 007 Walkthrough Guide: Archives! This article will cover everything you need to know to complete the eleventh level, Archives, on Agent, Secret Agent and 00 Agent difficulties.
The Archive level is another maze-like map. It’s relatively straight forward once you know your way around. You’ll be with Natalya again, and if she ever says “I’m scared, I’m getting out of here,” run all the way up to the attic. That’s where she usually goes to hide.
A: Escape from interrogation room
B: Find Natalya
C: Recover helicopter black box (Secret Agent, 00 Agent)
D: Escape with Natalya
GoldenEye 007 Walkthrough Guide: Archives
You begin in a small interrogation room. Some goons with Dostovei’s are here, and they think you’re involved with the GoldenEye. Your PP7 and ammo will be right in front of you, however opening fire will result in some heavy damage.
There are many ways to escape the interrogation room, but the easiest is to walk around the table, being careful not to grab your weapon, to the guy on the left. Being careful not to go too close to the door, slap the guard, then crouch to avoid the other guard’s shots and slap him down, too.
Once these guards are taken care of, grab the key, your PP7, and the ammo, and get out of there (Objective A: Completed).
There is a soldier in the hallway to the right as you exit the interrogation room. Shoot him and grab his KF7 Soviet, then go in the door in front of you.
This next, big room is full of boxes. There is also a Body Armour in here on Agent and Secret Agent. There should also be a guard or two. When these guys are taken care of, run out the other door and up the stairs.
This next hallway is full of enemies. Shoot only those guys that are directly in your way and take the first left at the stop of the stairs. More soldiers to get past, then open the door to the library.
The first door on the left needs to another book filled room. After going through the door, take a
right, shoot the guard here, then go to the single door on the left wall. It’s the only single door in the whole room.
You’ll find Natalya here. As soon as she sees you, she manages to escape (Objective B: Completed). The two guards in that room will start firing, so make a quick exit.
Natalya will now follow, along with many guards. Run through the door on the opposite wall and head down the stairs. On bottom floor of the room you were in before, open the door on the right wall. Take a left and run for the only single door that you see. Head through the door and take a left.
You’ll be in Mishkin’s Secret Hideaway. On Agent difficulty you can shoot him and be done with it, but everyone else has to listen. Walk right up to Mishkin, and he’ll explain that Ouromov is the traitor. Mishkin will give you the safe key. Use it to open up the nearby safe, and find the Helicopter Flight Recorder (Objective C: Completed)!
Note: Sometimes some guards will enter the room while your conversation with Mishkin is still in progress. If so, don’t shoot them. If you do, Mishkin pulls out a Dostovei and start shooting. Instead,
slap these soldiers to death.
Once you have the black box run out of the opposite door and continue along that hallway. After going through the next door, you find a room with some windows. Shoot the glass and jump through (Objective D: Completed). It doesn’t matter how far away Natalya is when you escape, as long as she’s still alive!
That completes this GoldenEye 007 walkthrough guide: Archives! If you’re struggling with other levels in the game, be sure to check out our guides below:
