The holiday season is almost upon us. As such, Netflix UK has gone ahead and revealed some of the new additions coming in December 2023. Of course, there’s a huge line-up of Christmas themed movies (no Die Hard, though). But in addition to all the merriment and family fluff, we have three new additions a little less festive.
First up we have Yu Yu Hakusho, arriving on Netflix on 14th December, 2023. Based on a manga originally serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1990 to July 1994, and subsequently adapted to a anime series, Yu Yu Hakusho has followed a similar path to the likes of Death Note. However, this is an all-new live action series opposed to a movie. And what’s more, rumblings among the fanbase right now are undeniably more positive than many of its peers.

Next comes Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget. This made-for-Netflix sequel pleased fans with the debut of a trailer earlier this year, and has since gone on to become one of the most highly anticipated releases on Netflix in December 2023. Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget arrives on 15th December.
Finally, we have Spidey. Yes, there’s already a selection of Spider-Man movies on Netflix. And yes, that includes Spider-Man: No Way Home. But this time, we’re getting the Spider-Man: No Way Home Extended Edition.
This extended version has been available via Prime Video for some time, but as a paid release. It features over 11 minutes of new footage, including deleted scenes.

Other upcoming releases include Obliterated on 20th November, Squid Game: The Challenge on 22nd November, Obliterated on 20th November and Prey for the Devil on 30th November. And then, we begin the onslaught of family Christmas movies.
